An anonymous, non-contactable complainant alleged Pfizer sponsored a Saturday morning meeting (20 March 2010) at a luxury golf and spa resort hotel.
The complainant alleged the location/timing/venue were used to persuade doctors to attend, with the event ending at lunchtime and attendees then able to use spa/golf facilities or visit local attractions.
The PMCPA asked Pfizer to respond in relation to Clauses 2, 9.1 and 19.1 of the Code.
Pfizer stated the meeting was arranged solely by a third party; Pfizer provided no sponsorship, had no promotional stand, and no Pfizer personnel attended.
Pfizer provided a letter from the organisers confirming Pfizer was not involved in any way.
